The city of Vaughan offers people an attractive standard of living with safe neighbourhoods, quality schools, pleasant parks and trails and many family friendly attractions. It’s a sought after place to live by many, as it’s nestled away from downtown Toronto, yet still easily accessible to the major city.

Here are four major reasons why Vaughan makes a great place to call home.

Excellent Location

Vaughan is known as the city above Toronto as it’s located on the northern part of the city with convenient accessibility to the 400, 407 and 427. Also, there are three transit systems are currently available in Vaughan:

  • York Region Transit (YRT) provides rapid transit services around Vaughan and York Region.
  • Toronto Transit Commission (TTC) has bus routes that serve many parts of Vaughan. Also, the Toronto-York Spadina Subway Extension Project  will provide an 8.6 km extension of the existing TTC subway from Downsview Station to the Vaughan Metropolitan Centre. Subway service is expected very soon.
  • GO Transit is the regional public transit service for the Greater Toronto and Hamilton Area. GO Transit offers train services between Union Station, Rutherford Road Station and Maple Station in Vaughan. Go Transit also has bus services serving Kleinburg, Woodbridge, Highway 400 at Major Mackenzie, and Canada’s Wonderland.

Vast Education Opportunities

Vaughan has an excellent public school system with many private school options as well. Standardized test scores from the Ontario Education Quality and Accountability Office demonstrate that York Region students are among the best educational performers in Ontario. As well, Vaughan offers a short and accessible commute to reputable post-secondary institutions such as Seneca College and York University.

Many Family Attractions

Vaughan offers many attractions to guarantee family fun all year round. For example, Vaughan is home to Canada’s Wonderland, the most popular theme park in the country. It’s also home to Reptilia – Canada’s largest indoor reptile zoo. In the Winter, you can enjoy skiing and snowboarding at Uplands Ski Centre. Feel like a Canadian culture and history lesson? Visit Black Creek Pioneer Village, located nearby to Vaughan.

Variety of Shopping

Vaughn has large regional malls, outlet centres, small one of-a-kind shops and specialty retail stores across the city. The famous Vaughan Mills is a shopping destination for the entire GTA as it has 200 retail, dining and entertainment options with 17 anchor stores. Vaughan is also home to The Promenade, a beautiful shopping mall with all of your favourite stores. Feel like a more quiet vibe? Woodbridge’s Market Lane and the Village of Kleinburg provide main street shopping with one-of-a-kind shops and cafes.
