If you live in an apartment or condo with your own laundry machines, it is likely they’re in a closet or small room. Well, don’t think you’re limited to the confines of the space presented to you. There are ways to make the space more useful from a storage perspective, and pleasant for the eyes to look at too.
1. Uniform wall shelves and some paint creates a neat & tidy space
If you have enough space in your closet to add some shelving to the walls, do it! In this picture, wall shelves create storage space for laundry detergent, towels and more. Also, the interior of the closet is painted in the same colour as the outside area, creating a seamless look.
2. Lighting and a backsplash adds elegance
In this photo, spotlights are used to brighten up an otherwise dark space. And, no need to keep the doors of this laundry closet tightly closed – the backsplash adds a very nice design element.
3. A door rack saves the day
Some laundry closets don’t offer any additional space, but don’t let this stop you. You can always hang a rack on your door to hold laundry essentials.
4. A clothing rod and closet organizer goes a long way
If your closet has the space for it, stick a clothing rod somewhere inside to hang clothes that have been pressed or need to hang dry. This space also makes use of a closet organizer to keep the essentials easily accessible.
