Plants improve the air quality in homes and can add a relaxing touch to decor. However, many of us have difficulty maintaining plants and helping them to thrive. Thank goodness for plants that aren’t so demanding and can do well indoors, even for those of us lacking a green thumb. We’ve rounded up a list of 5 beautiful and low maintenance plants for your indoor space.

1. Snake Plant/ Mother-in-law\s Tongue

Snake plant is low maintenance and one of the toughest house plants. It has stiff upright leaves that makes it stand out in any room. To care for them, put them in indirect sunlight and don’t water them too much, especially during the winter.

2. Jade Plant
These attractive plants are considered to be symbols of good luck and better yet, care and maintenance is not difficult. Jade plants like a lot of sun, and for watering, simply water your jade plant when the top of the soil is dry to the touch.
3. Pothos
The Pothos plant is quite lush and easy to care for. This plant can do well in low light and its vines can grow quite long. Pothos like to have their soil dry out completely between watering. In fact, if left in damp soil, the roots will rot. The plant will tell you when it needs watering – as it will start to droop.

4. Aloe Plant
Aloe plants are known for their thick, juicy leaves and healing properties. The gel inside the leaves can be used for scrapes, cuts and burns. You don’t need to be too attentive to your aloe plant. Water deeply, but to discourage rot, allow the soil to dry at least 1 to 2 inches deep between waterings. In winter, water even less often.
5. Dracaena Plant
Dracena is known for its beautiful foliage and carefree nature. They are undemanding plants – they can do well in low to medium light but look their best in indirect sunlight, and they need a pot with drain holes. For watering, they like to be dried slightly between waterings and need less water in fall and winter.
